powered by Vaporwisp™ technology

Vaporwisp™ is a moisture control system designed to stabilize humidity and prevent condensation—both in your room and inside your walls. It works like the silica gel packets that protect your vitamins or new shoes.

Two hard-working layers control the flow of moisture to promote durability

The primer layer

Acts as a gate, opening to the flow of water vapor when the humidity is high and closes when the humidity is low. The primer is designed to work in concert with the paint to prevent moisture from accumulating inside walls and ceilings.

The paint layer

Acts as a sponge, absorbing water vapor when the humidity rises. When the humidity in the room falls, it slowly releases water back into the air.

Humidity regulation

When humidity rises, Lilypad Paint absorbs water vapor from the environment and stores it inside a nanoporous material. When humidity falls, Lilypad Paint slowly releases vapor back into the environment. These processes reduce swings in humidity. One gallon of Lilypad Matte Paint can trap 12 ounces of water—the same amount as a soda can—in the paint on your wall.

Directing moisture away from walls

When Lilypad Paint releases moisture, Lilypad Primer closes the gate and steers it away, protecting your walls and ceiling.

Temperature regulation

When the temperature rises, water evaporates from the paint and provides a cooling effect — just as we use sweat for cooling. This also works in reverse, providing a warming effect when the temperature falls and the paint gathers water vapor from the air. This cycle smooths out temperature swings on your walls and ceilings.

Our Parent Company:

Imbuing familiar materials with exceptional capabilities

Founded by a Brown University Professor of Physics, Adept Materials has a mission to increase the durability, comfort, and energy efficiency of the materials around us. Today, its patented Vaporwisp™ technology is enabling Lilypad paint to control moisture. Tomorrow, Adept's technology could be applied in food packaging, textiles, construction materials, healthcare products, and beyond.
